| Breaking News | | Thursday, June 5th, 2008: Crocker Gets 5 Hits It seemed that Skinner's left fielder George Crocker could do no wrong today, but it still didn't come out right. The Pub still dropped the game to the Coffee House by the score of 8-6. He did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but in the end, Java Joe's prevailed in the ballgame at Quest Ballpark.
"I felt real good today, but my best just wasn't enough. We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play. The balls just fell in for base hits. Some days they do that," Crocker explained in the postgame press interview.
G. Crocker singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off D. Sherry in the 9th.
This season Crocker is batting .636 with 63 hits, 18 home runs, 40 RBIs, .624 OBP and has scored 37 runs. | | Wednesday, June 4th, 2008: Big Day with Bat: Mcgregor 5-7 After the Alpha 29-15 victory over Java Joe's and his 5-hit day center fielder Chris Mcgregor told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 51-year-old player gained that distinction today at Magicians Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 7 game against the Java Joe's Coffee House.
The skipper of the Insurance spoke glowingly of Mcgregor, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Chris did that to perfection today."

And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
H. Whitney hit a solo-shot off D. Sherry in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
